The Senate and House of Representatives wings of the National Assembly on Monday was ‘greeted’ with a terrible ordour due to power and water outage throughout the working hours.

The offensive odour oozing out of male and female toilets from the twin wings of the building hosting offices of lawmakers to the lower and upper Chambers forced those present on Monday to close for the day.

Defecations were seen in toilet holes unflushed, while female sanitary pads were seen littered in female toilets.

Handful of staff were seen using phone torchlight to have access to some offices, even as those who struggled to move through darkness missed their steps and as lifts has stopped working due to power outage throughout the day.

DAILY POST attempted to speak with Senator Abu Ibrahim, Senate Committee Chairman on Police Affairs on the issue, but was referred to meet the Chairman, Senate Committee Services who the newspaper was told had left before long.

The 2nd floor of the Senate was badly hit as those who turned out for public hearing on Senate Committee on Finance who were pressed have to forcefully use the toilet despite the lack of water.
